Terms of Use

Last updated: 12 August 2026

These terms are not finished. The operator's details have not been filled in yet. Please don't rely on this document until this notice is gone.

Who you're dealing with

Quidder is operated by [NOT SET — see src/lib/legal.ts], of [NOT SET — see src/lib/legal.ts]. You can reach us at [NOT SET — see src/lib/legal.ts].

Using Quidder means accepting these terms. If you don't accept them, please don't use it.

What Quidder is — and what it isn't

Quidder records purchases, inventory, sales and expenses, and works out the profit on each item. It organises figures you enter.

It is not accounting, tax or legal advice, and it is not a substitute for an accountant. The tax-related figures are there to help you prepare, not to file on your behalf. Anything you put on a tax return remains your responsibility, and you should check it against your own records or with a professional.

Your account

You need to be 18 or over and using Quidder for a business or trading activity. Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your login. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has got into your account.

One person, one account. Please don't share a login with others.

Your data is yours

Everything you enter belongs to you. We claim no ownership of it and we do not use it for any purpose beyond running the service for you — see the Privacy Policy.

You can export the lot to spreadsheet files whenever you like, and delete your account from Settings. We would rather you left with a copy of your books than felt stuck here.

The accuracy of what you enter is down to you. We cannot tell whether a figure you typed is the right one.

Fair use

Use Quidder lawfully, for your own bookkeeping. Please don't:

  • try to reach anyone else's account or data;
  • probe, scrape, overload or disrupt the service;
  • upload anything unlawful, or resell Quidder as your own.

Availability

We aim to keep Quidder running, but we can't promise it will always be available. It may be down for maintenance, for a problem at one of our providers, or for reasons outside our control. There is no uptime guarantee.

Features may change or be withdrawn. If we remove something you rely on, we will give you reasonable notice and time to export your data.

No warranty

Quidder is provided "as is". We work hard to keep the calculations correct and we fix mistakes when we find them, but we don't warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Keep your own records, and check anything you rely on. The weekly backup exists precisely so you always hold a copy that doesn't depend on us.

Where our liability ends

Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. Those exclusions are void, and we are not attempting them.

Beyond that, and because Quidder is provided free of charge:

  • we are not liable for lost profits, lost business, lost goodwill, or losses arising from a tax position you took;
  • we are not liable for data you lose if you have not kept your own copy, which the export and backup features let you do at any time;
  • our total liability to you, for everything combined, is limited to £100.

If Quidder ever becomes a paid service, this section will be revisited — a liability cap set for a free tool is not appropriate for one people pay for.

Ending it

You can delete your account at any time, from Settings, without asking us and without giving a reason.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or where we are required to. Except where the law prevents us, we will tell you why and give you a reasonable chance to export your data first. If we ever shut Quidder down entirely, we will give you at least 30 days' notice to get your records out.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you we will email you before it takes effect. Continuing to use Quidder after that means you accept the new version; if you don't, you can export your data and close your account.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you can bring proceedings in your own country's courts.

If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands.
